Landing a medical billing and coding job at home is a dream come true for many work-at-home’ers. It’s flexible in that it allows you to work when you want with here no phone calls to take and background noise isn’t a worry. The average starting salary for a medical biller/code is between $25,000 and $42,000 per year. The job market is expected to grow rapidly with some estimates saying over 44,000 jobs will be added by the year 2022!
Problem is, you have to have a certification or previous experience (that also probably required certification) in order to get one of these coveted positions. That’s where CareerStep comes in!
CareerStep is a full-service program that provides training at your own pace. It offers many programs and is endorsed by Dave Ramsey, author of Financial Peace University. Also included in your training program is a voucher to take the CPC or CCA certification exam, which is a credential that almost all companies require. CareerStep also provides post-graduation job search support to help you find the job of your dreams! I’ve also heard there is an intern program where you can start work with a work-at-home company either right before or right after graduation! Wouldn’t that be awesome, a job right out of the gate?!
All materials are provided in the form of e-books and printed materials. Currently, they are providing a free iPad through July 31st, 2016, for students to use with their eBooks. If you use my link to enroll you will also receive free shipping on your printed materials. The entire class can be taken online with just a laptop, so it’s great for military spouses who may be moving often and anyone who needs the flexibility of job training online. Multiple exam sites are provided as well, so location won’t be an issue there either.
The class is available to you and should be completed within one year. However, it can be completed in as little as four months! Graduates are provided their exam voucher and can sit the exam right after graduation. Of CareerStep students, 94% report passing the exam after taking the course. Think about it, if you start by the end of July, you can take your exam in November, and have a brand new and well-paying job before Christmas!
I’m planning on starting soon. How many of you will be with me? You can comment below or post about your experiences in our Honey, I’m Home For Work forum. We’d love to hear your experiences!
