Here is a list of companies that offer website user testing opportunities. These will be more sporadic in nature.
Usertesting.com – Get paid $10 to make a video of yourself completing tasks on a website while speaking your thoughts about the site.
Loop 11 – Open to Global residents, and individuals as young as 14 as long as you have a PayPal account. Tests pay from $1 up to $5. This a great way for tech-savvy teens to make some extra money during the summer!
TryMyUi – Pay is $10 per 10-20 minute test of a website. There is a simple qualification test to show you understand what they are looking for and the process. Opportunities are sent via email. Pay is through PayPal on a bi-weekly schedule.
What Users Do – Pay for reviewing websites. This does require a sample test, once that is passed you will receive opportunities via email. Pay is around $12.50 per test and is paid out via PayPal once monthly.
Validately – Pay varies from $5, up to $30 or more depending on the type of test. Quick tests are less, live tests where you are speaking with someone and screen sharing are paid at a higher rate. Pay is through PayPal a few days after each test.
Analysia – Get paid $10 to surf a website for 10-15 minutes and give your thoughts on it.
Feedback Army – Pay varies, and work is done through Amazon’s MTurk platform.
User testing is a very popular opportunity and generally, there are more testers than designers requesting tests. I would recommend signing up for all legitimate companies you can find so you can maximize the money made from this type of work. It might not be a steady income, but definitely some extra bucks here and there!
